How to perform lash lift aftercare

One of the major reasons people fall flat so quickly after a lash lift is the lack of follow-up care. A professional lash technician will make sure you leave the salon with perfectly lifted and curled lashes, but then it's up to you to maintain that effect. The longer your lashes are, the better your lash lift and tint will be. Follow the care routine below to make your results last.

First: Don't rub or get your lashes wet for 24 hours

Do not use any products such as makeup, creams or any treatment oils

Do not use a facial steamer or sauna, or even cry

Second: Do not use an eyelash curler

Using an eyelash curler can ruin your eyelash lift and bring your lashes back to normal. Using an eyelash curler too soon after your eyelash lift can also damage your lashes.

Third: Stay away from harsh products

One of the most important care tips after a lash lift is to stay away from harsh cosmetics and/or chemical products. If you want to continue with your regular skincare routine, though, some adjustments may be necessary! Any products you use on or around your eyes (i.e. cosmetics, cleansers, makeup removers, moisturizers) should not contain oil, as oil can act on the solution that produces long-lasting curl. Waterproof mascara is a big no-no!

Fourth: Gently comb your lashes

Gently clean your lashes and lash line daily. Using a mascara brush or cotton swab and foaming Cleanser or micellar water, wash away oil, dirt, dead skin and eye makeup before they have a chance to build up on your lashes. Finally, finish grooming your lashes by sweeping them thoroughly with a clean brush (but wait until they're dry).

Fifth: Treat your lashes gently

We all know how satisfying it can be to rub your eyes. However, especially in the first 24 hours after a lash lift, excessive rubbing or pulling on the lash area can greatly affect the appearance of your lashes and may cause them to straighten.
